Our enemies are under-funding, opaque and unhelpful measurement, and a failure to focus on the problem.
Teaching is hard enough - without the echos of Covid-19, the highest levels of poverty in decades and systemic under-funding from the Government.
We know that.
One of the most exciting things about our action over the last year has been the number of teachers and other education professionals who have got in touch with us to offer their support and tell their own stories about how the education divide in the city impacts them both in the classroom and in their careers.
As we move into the next phase of our campaigning we want to bring teachers and other staff together from all parts of the system (early years, primary, secondary, FE and HE) who:
Experience the class divide in their work and professional lives.
Want to support pupils and staff from low income and working class backgrounds to have the best experience in education.
Would like to learn more about class and education in our city, and more widely.
Understand that narrowing the gaps will not happen on its own and who want to make change.
If this sounds like you, please show your interest in the Class Divide Teachers Network by completing the form.
