First public recognition

Until action happens, we will not be anything other than frustrated and fighting.

However, in the first week of the campaign it was good to see Councillor Nancy Platts - who represents the East Brighton ward - calling out the issues we are fighting for in this Argus article. We believe this shows an early promise of the impact we are going to have.

Because Class Divide is politically neutral and looking for change, actions and commitment from the whole of the city of Brighton & Hove, the only ‘side’ we care about is the young people of East Brighton, their parents, supporters and teachers. So we welcome support and airtime for these issues.

We’ll know we’re making real progress, though, when actual change happens, when resources are committed and when the educational attainment of our community rises. Right now, the situation has worsened with homeschooling putting greater pressure on our parents and students, and we are chasing answers and progress from Brighton & Hove City Council on a daily basis.
