A Parent's Voice: 'Where I come from, we don't have a voice for this sort of thing'
Last night, Whitehawk parent and campaign member Lewis shared his family's journey through Brighton's school admissions system at the Brighton and Hove City Council's scrutiny committee. His story of navigating public transport with his twins who have autism, and the reality that many families don't even get the luxury of choice, moved everyone in the room.
'Where I come from, we don't have a voice for this sort of thing,' Lewis told councillors.
But last night, that voice was heard loud and clear. Thank you Lewis for standing up for all the families who couldn't be there.
This isn't just about school admissions - it's about creating a Brighton where every child, regardless of their postcode or their parents' circumstances, has real choices and opportunities.
Please listen and share far and wide.
